The main formalities are gathered here, with the documents required and the recommended place to apply.
Biometric passport
Issued by the Border Police Directorate. The applicant must attend in person for biometric enrolment.
Documents to provide
- Extract of birth certificate or substitute court judgment.
- Copy of the NINA form or of the CNIBS.
- Certificate of occupation, if applicable.
- Previous passport, for a renewal.
- Payment receipt or tax stamp.
Biometric identity card
Official identification document, intended to replace older identity documents under the procedures in force.
Documents to provide
- Individual RAVEC form or NINA number.
- Extract of birth certificate.
- Certificate of residence.
- Certificate of occupation.
Certificate of good conduct
Document attesting to a citizen's good conduct, often required for competitive exams, recruitment or administrative files.
Documents to provide
- Handwritten application bearing a tax stamp.
- Copy of a valid identity document.
- Attendance in person with two witnesses carrying their identity documents.
Declaration of loss
Procedure to follow when official documents are lost or stolen: passport, biometric card, driving licence, vehicle registration certificate.
Documents to provide
- Valid identity document, or a copy of the lost document if available.
- Tax stamp.
- Declaration to be completed on site.
